Weekly spelling, done properly

The spelling practice that actually follows your child through the week.

Spellimus turns the weekly list from school into daily practice that adapts to the words your child keeps getting wrong — and gives you, the parent or teacher, a clear view of how it's going.

How it works

A weekly rhythm that mirrors the classroom.

No new pedagogy to learn. Spellimus runs the same Monday-to-Friday list cycle teachers have used for decades — just with adaptive practice and a proper record of what each child actually learned.

Audio plays the word, your child types it. Same flow as a real classroom dictation — low-distraction, no mini-games.

Adaptive practice

The words they get wrong rise to the top.

Every attempt is tracked per word. In review mode, Spellimus quietly pulls the struggling words forward so practice time is spent where it matters. Mastery rules are yours to set — by default, three correct tries lock a word in.

  • Per-word correct / incorrect history, across every list
  • Configurable mastery threshold (3–5 correct, your call)
  • Practice rounds auto-weighted toward struggle words

One learning profile

School list, parent list, library list — one history.

Most apps treat every list as a fresh start. Spellimus doesn't. Every word your child has ever practised — whether from Miss Patel on Monday, a list you built from last term's misses, or a phonics pack from the library — lives in the same history.

  • A word your kid has nailed three times won't come back in mastery review
  • Source-tagged per attempt: School · Parent · Library · Group
  • Parents see the full picture; teachers see only the lists they set
Parent-led groups

Start a "class" in your WhatsApp group in about a minute.

No school sign-off required. Create a group, share a join link — the one you're already about to paste into the class chat — and every family that joins gets the same weekly list. Ideal for PTA parent reps, homeschool co-ops, and Saturday tuition cohorts.

  • Join by link or QR code — parents keep their own account
  • Group organiser sees aggregate progress, not individual scores
  • Co-organisers free — TAs, grandparents, tuition centre tutors

The tutor view

Finally, a view into what your child is actually learning.

Per-child practice frequency, per-word correct/incorrect history, progress on the lists you've set — without nagging, without guessing.

Questions

Things parents and teachers ask us.

Didn't find it here? We read every email. Help centre →

Is there actually a point to another spelling app?+

Honestly — only if your child's school sets weekly lists, or you're set on teaching spelling methodically. Spellimus is for that specific moment. If you want something open-ended or gamified, we'd point you elsewhere.

What's different about the adaptive practice?+

We keep per-word history across every source — school list, library, your own lists — so mastered words don't resurface, and struggling ones stay in rotation until they're genuinely stuck. Three correct, unaided, across two sessions is the default threshold. Tutors can adjust.

Do schools and parents use different accounts?+

Schools have a Classroom account with a roster and parent-invite links. Parents keep their own account. Both see the child's history; teachers only see progress on their own assigned lists.

Is there a mobile app?+

Yes, native iOS and Android. Practice works offline for 7 days. No ads, no in-app purchases, parent-PIN gate on settings.

What about our kid's data?+

GDPR-first, COPPA-compliant, pre-signed DPA for schools. We never sell learner data and never use it to train third-party models. Full details on the privacy page.

Arabic support?+

Arabic UI + RTL layout is in limited release for tuition partners in the Gulf; we expect general availability Q2 2026. Get on the waitlist through the schools team.
